Upgraded Yamaha WaveRunners hit Australian Shores

Yamaha’s VX Series of WaveRunners have always been hugely popular both in Australia and New Zealand. Designed to be an affordable way to get on the water, the VX has been the top selling watercraft around the world for the last four years. This year, VX models have been upgraded making them an even more attractive proposition for buyers looking for their first personal watercraft.

In 2010 the VX series receives a newly designed deck with more aggressive

styling. The new deck integrates the look and feel of a more expensive craft by creating a more expansive rider position than previous VX models. To do this the seat length has been increased to provide more legroom and better rider ergonomics complete with a striking new profile that mirrors Yamaha’s more expensive FX line of craft. The position of the reverse control has also been adjusted for greater convenience and ease of use.

The VX series have been the most fuel efficient craft on the water for a number of years. In 2010 the Yamaha VX models are now even more fuel efficient. A remapping of the watercraft’s sophisticated ECU allowed Yamaha engineers to reduce fuel consumption by 10 percent at both cruising speed and wide open throttle with no reduction in horsepower, maintaining the class-leading performance that makes the VX Series so much fun to ride.

Ride has also been modified with the addition of a new ride plate and sponsons. The combination delivers a dryer and better riding trim angle while the newly developed sponsons allow precise handling and turning.

“The VX is an exciting craft for anyone considering purchasing a WaveRunner”, says Iain MacLeod, National Sales and Marketing Manager for WaveRunners in Australia. “Many customers View this range as the perfect value package to get on the water. The VX series of craft are easy to store and maintain as well as being simple to launch and retrieve. WaveRunners are an exciting but also stress free way of enjoying Australia’s beautiful waterways.”

Yamaha WaveRunners are available through a nation wide network of authorised dealers. The Yamaha range encompasses models to suit beginners right up to more experienced riders and racers. Full specifications and features can be found on the Yamaha website.
