Whats your main motivation for shaping surf crafts at the moment?
Boards that suit various conditions to go surfing on.

Deeper concaves with more forgiving rails.

Flatter rockers and decks.
How long have you been shaping?
18 years.
Approximately how many boards have you shaped in your lifetime?
F**k knows. Lots. All hand crafted.
What design innovations are you currently working on at the moment?
Distribution of foam for different people's requirements.
What do you think the current surfboards designs could improve upon?
Making boards that can suit a bigger variety of waves.
What advice would you give the average punter when ordering a board for the first time?
Be honest about your ability and fitness.

What is your advice on fins considering the options available today?
Go fixed fiberglass fins or fiberglass removables. No plastic or carbon fibre, weird flex being the reason.

Is there anything you are doing differently now as opposed to 12 months ago?
Deep concave in tails with refined rails and more area in nose and tail.
How have board designs changed in the last five years?
Deeper concaves, flatter tail rockers, smaller fins.
How long have you been shaping?
14 years.
Approximately how many boards have you shaped in your lifetime?
7000 all hand crafted without profile machine.
What design innovations are you currently working on at the moment?
Deeper concaves in tail with smaller fins.
What do you think the current surfboards designs could improve upon?
Maintaining speed and drive on all parts of the wave surfed.
What advice would you give the average punter when ordering a board for the first time?
Bring in to the shaper, your old board and talk openly about your ability and how you like to surf waves you catch.

What is your advice on fins considering the options available today?
I advise customers to have fixed fiberglass or removable fiberglass fins - no moulded plastic fins of possible.
