I'm confused

Why do surfers where a normal Tee shirt while they are surfing?

I would never even think of doing it. I would rather wear a wetsuit top or just nothing at all. This wouldn't be a problem for them but when they get out the water the top would be all stretched and wrecked. What am i missing?

Its gotta be a fashion statement. Or they might be paranoid someone will steal it if they leave it on the beach :)

Dunno why some do, they are shitehouse to wear when wet.
I have noticed that many brands have had "T-shirt look" rashies in there range for the last few years.

I notice Quikie is doing custom boardies, maybe there is a market for custom rashies as well. T-shirts are a drag out in the surf.
