Well, the first event of the 2017 World Tour has officially commenced. As is now customary, the Gold Coast was gifted a glut of swell in the lead up. Luckily most of the world’s best had already taken up residence in Coolangatta and gorged on the perfection. Tracks photographer Simon “Swilly" Williams made the most of the photographic fodder and sent the following array of images through to us. Right now the forecast is looking marginal, with a few flat days to start followed by a bump in swell but semi-unfavourable winds, so you best make the most of these images as it might be the best surf you see during the Quik Pro.
