In the wake of yet another east coast shark attack it’s been revealed that Taj Burrow, Craig Anderson and Dion Agius had spent the past few days surfing the same stretch of North Coast beach, inside Booti Booti National Park, where a man was attacked by a shark this morning.
The consistent beach breaks around Forster have long been a staple for pro surfers chasing photos and footage. Taj, Dion and Craig were on a trip together and had planned to surf at Booti Booti National Park this morning when they received news of the attack. Commenting on the incident Taj burrow stated, “Everyone’s a bit off it, it’s kind of a weird vibe … pretty devastated really. I guess we’re just going to pack up and head out. We’ve had four days of really fun waves. Hopefully old mates alright.”
According to news reports the 65-year-old victim suffered deep lacerations to his leg and puncture wounds to his foot and hand. Seven Mile Beach (where the attack took place) and all beaches in the surrounding area have been closed.
