By “different kinds of stuff” John apparently means landing bone-jarring rotors at Pipeline, viciously scalping the summits of Haleiwa, paddling Jaws and pulling into towering outer reef closeouts for shits and giggles. Currently ranked number two in the world and with Teahupoo and Pipe still to run John has never looked so good for a world title. These consistently stunning ten minutes of virtuoso surfing are further proof that he’s the most exciting surfer in the world, that he’s still improving and that he has a massive home break advantage come December.
