A meter in this clip shows Alex Gray and Anthony Walsh surfing in water of one degree Celsius with and air temp of minus one – that my friends, is cold. To stay remotely comfortable requires a minimum of six millimetres of rubber encasing your entire body – gloves, booties and hood included. But looking at the waves they score and the magic of the Alaskan landscape, this all seems a small price to pay.
