PNG Explorer

CAPTAIN

The Master V skipper, engineering tradesman, and frothing surfer comes from five generations of Port Phillip Bay seafarers. He was raised surfing 13th Beach before spending his formative years on the water on trawlers, charter boats and his own yacht, sailing up the Australian coastline over two years.

THE BOAT

Since 2007 PNG Explorer is PNG’s only surf charter dedicated to exploring the country’s perfect, uncrowded waves. It is a live-aboard ship designed for surfing, fishing and diving charters. Its home port is Kavieng in the north-eastern PNG. Enjoy the flexibility of being on a boat and the knowledge of your experienced skipper/surf guide who will always take you to the best possible locations. Accommodation is air-conditioned for 10 guests in total (8 surfers). You’ll access waves with no other surfers around.

FUN FACT

At some point on an exploratory mission around PNG, the captain was running out of names for the newly-discovered breaks. He said: “Someone needs to come up with a system to name the new waves we are discovering.”
