Connor O’Leary

Connor from Cronulla.

Talented goofy-footers are synonymous with Cronulla. Quick checklist: Occy, Jim Banks, Andy King, Dog Marsh, Gary Green and the late Andrew Murphy.

Now, you can add Connor O’Leary to the mix.

A few of you may have heard of Connor before, but for those who are uneducated, here is a brief rundown.

The kid is half Aussie, half Japanese and surfs like a cross between Taj Burrow and Tom Curren. Kinda. His old girl Akemi is a former Japanese champ. He is currently dating pro junior dynamo Steph Single. He works as a surf coach in his spare time. He thinks Australian Japanese food “isn’t too bad.” He had a bit of a crack on the Pro Juniors, but is probably doing better on the WQS, earning himself a seed into the Prime events this year (he just beat Miggy Poops his heat in Cascais). He also reckons he did nothing really “mind-blowing” in this clip.

We think he’s tripping. What do you think?
