Along with every other surfer on the planet with aspirations to qualify for the 2014 ASP World Tour, Conner is in the west to compete in the Drug Aware Pro. It’s these six star prime events that budding world tour surfers need to make their mark. It’s tough competition, as Conner discovered when he failed to make the main event via the trials. No shame in that though, just look at the body count from round one… OUT: Joel Parkinson, Kai Otton, CJ and Damo Hobgood, Kieren Perrow, Mitch Crews, Tim Reyes and Mason Ho to name a few.
Lucky for us the Brad Gerlach coached natural footer hung around to light-up some local spots before leaving.
Note: Next year the Drug Aware Pro will be run as a ASP World Tour event so it’ll be very interesting to see who can take this year’s crown.
