3DFins apply the same dimple principle to their fins as golf balls. Put simply, the premise of the dimpled surface is that it creates less drag, allowing for more speed and drive than regular fins. This theory was put to the test recently when 3D were kind enough to supply Tracks with a set to test in Indonesia. The fiberglass fins definitely feel stiff in the hand, but once in the board they were super lively, responsive and felt particularly nice through turns. Whether a speed increase was noticeable or not is hard to say, but they definitely performed beautifully.
