Eight weeks has passed since the Gold Coast’s Dru Adler won the very first heat of ‘The Break’. We now find ourselves just two days away from the naming of the two grand prizewinners. ‘The Break’ is in final mode! 10 male surfers and five female surfers have gathered at Stradbroke Island for an intense two-day surf off. Involving all sorts of challenges from video sessions to straight up surfing competitions (and even intense personality scrutiny).
These final two days orchestrated to weed out a worthy winner from each batch of final competitors.
For the men the carrot dangling just in front of them is a 50 grand sponsorship package, and for the women it’s a 25 grand package. Both prizes hefty enough to give each winner a sweet financial edge over other hopefuls financing tilts at qualification onto the World Tour.
The finalists are:
