It boggles the mind to think that aerial surfing was once considered a soulless pursuit. Go back a few decades and you’d find that those pioneering above the lip surfing were often scorned for their hedonist ways. The main reasons for such scorn and ridicule coming from the fact this then new approach to wave riding was damn difficult and style was sometimes sacrificed. Absurd as it sounds today, especially when some of the best aerial surfers like Dane Reynolds and Craig Anderson are considered ‘soul’ surfers (as they don’t compete regularly). It seems even more absurd for the open minded amongst us who believe soul surfing is simply an individuals right to follow his or her own desired path on a wave.

Either way if this mix of surfer, flight and beautiful golden amber light featuring comp head Brett Simpson has you up in arms in any way, Tracksmag.com suggests you look away now!
