f you bow down at the alter of the ocean, you’d understand why this magnificent empty is some ‘Holy Shit’. Being far from perfect, it’s hard to explain to the laymen why this wild-as-hell wave, captured by photographer Nate Smith and delivered to us like a salty sculpture, is so sacred? From the bulbous shadow in the middle of the peak to the oily shoulder – it’s a seriously beautiful specimen.

Ironically, it’s those exact words, “Holy Shit!” You’d be screaming to the heavens if you were unlucky enough to be caught inside by a wave such as this.
