The surfer featured in Magical Moment is one Sion Milosky.
As you all know Sion passed away last Wednesday afternoon surfing Mavericks [read HERE].
Sion’s ability to thread the eye of the Pipeline storm was uncanny.
This shot, by our Nate Smith, an example of his poise in the power… Little wonder it was used for our March issue cover shot.
No surfer has made more of an impact in one winter, than Sion in 2010/11.
He was ruling.
Plenty of pits, multiple cover shots, timeless footage, you name it – he was having the time of his life.
His presence in the line up was always a welcome sight thanks to this go for it attitude and his cool gentle demeanor.
A huge loss to surfing, but more so, his family and friends.
