Note: Welcome to the third installment of award winning photographer Nate Smith’s ‘Friday Shutter Play’ photo / blog [fourth to drop on June 29] Expect the unexpected every Friday as Nate surprises and tantalises your retinas with anything from a black and white portraits series to a red hot recent session. Either way it’s going to be all quality images backed by the inside word from the man himself.
The boat trip season is now upon us. Each year from about May through till September, surfers seek out warm water and fun waves in exotic climes. It’s you and your mates, often a hardy crew not too dissimilar to a bunch of pirates setting out to explore the unknowns.
A few years back I was sent on assignment with this bunch. Warm water, some real fun waves and some damn good stories were heard and shared. It’s an easy place to be and the next best place to heaven – unless it’s raining all day, which does happen.
It’s a job that most photographers love to be on but not just for shooting – when the pros are done it’s an easy time to go sneak a few for yourself. A good office one might say… so enjoy the daily grind of The Boat Trip.
