Garrett McNamara Returns For Monster Waves at Nazaré

Garrett McNamara returns to where he earnt the XXL Biggest Wave award and Guinness World Record – Nazaré.

Garrett McNamara returns to Nazaré with his partner Kealii Mamalaafter tracking a swell with the most epic conditions since 2010

Garrett McNamara, who made history in Nazaré during ZON’s North Canyon expedition in 2011, winning the Billabong XXL Biggest Wave award and earning a Guinness World Record, returned to Nazaré straight from Hawaii to surf a swell forecasted to produce wave heights and conditions that had yet to be experienced in Praia do Norte.

McNamara was accompanied by his trusty partner Kealii Mamala, another big wave rider who had several epic rides. Kamaki Worthington, also from Hawaii, ran water safety along with Hugo Vau.
