Jack Robinson is one of the most talented surfers to come out of the western state in recent years. At just 18 years of age he has already established himself well up the pecking order at The Box and North Point, two potential venues for the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro. This morning the WSL Commissioner’s Office offered him one of two spots into the main event.
“I feel very privileged to be chosen,” Robinson said. “ I can’t wait for the show to begin and am looking forward to competing on home turf and also considering the extra locations available this year.”
Jack’s inclusion is a huge drawcard into the event. The natural footer displayed his penchant for heavy water in Hawaii last season and is a standout whenever the shallow reefs light up around home.
In other news, last year’s trials winner Jay Davies will again have to surf his way into the main event despite taking home a fifth place finish in 2015.
