The Region

On the western tip of the remote island of Rote off West Timor is Nemberala village; situated on a long sandy beach with an offshore reef and a really long left peeling down the reef; T-Land. The village is not a touristy location with only surfers and often their families frequenting the area. There is a range of other breaks dotted around the coast and on the neighbouring islands that need reliable boats to access. Being at the eastern end of the Indonesian chain the swells funnel up into the islands around Nemberala and are consistent in head high range with bigger swells regularly occurring throughout the season.

The Resort

Nemberala Beach Resort, located on the beach directly in front of the T-land reef, is a comfortable, classy, resort of just four duplex units providing eight villas that can be interconnecting to accommodate families. Each villa has its own shaded porch and private open-air bathroom and looks out over the sandy resort grounds to the lagoon and surf; with the swimming pool, bar and open-air restaurant nearby. The resort boats are on hand from dawn to transfer surfers out to the reef or nearby island breaks such as off Do’o and N’Dau islands as well as fishing and snorkelling excursions. There is a Spa; mountain bikes; SUPs; a rental quiver, games room and village market excursions.
