Sunny Garcia Update

The former World Champ has spoken a few words and is now in daily therapy.

It was in April of this year that Sunny Garcia was admitted to hospital after a reported attempt at taking his own life. He was placed into an induced coma, and the prognosis looked bleak.

Detailed reports of his condition in the month’s that have followed have been scarce, and it’s well within the rights of those closest to Sunny to keep it that way during what must be an emotional time.

However, Sunny’s family delivered an update on his condition yesterday via the GoFundMe page that has been set up to assist with Sunny’s medical costs.

It shared two pictures of Sunny and a message from the family which read:

A long over due update on Sunny. We are taking one day at a time and celebrating each little triumph. Sunny is a warrior and fighting everyday to get better and stronger. He has said a few words and is now in therapy daily- physical, speech and occupational. The family thanks you for your continued support for Sunny as he continues to heal. It’s going to be a marathon not a sprint but we work every day to make sure he is surrounded with love, laughter and ohana.

We will keep you updated on any further updates that are released. In the meantime we can only hope the long road to any potential recovery is as smooth as possible, both for Sunny and his family.

If you would like to donate you can find the GoFundMe page here.
