This is a fast, loose, small wave board. The flatter rocker with a deep single to double concave gives it speed and easier wave catching ability. The flyers and shortness of the board keeps it loose. It has a wider outline through the board so it holds a bit more volume, which is great for smaller waves.First Impressions
This has got an amazing weight to it and a tail that I’m really keen to try again. I rode a fair few boards with this rocket-tail and at the moment I’m riding boards with double flyers so this board looks really cool. I think it’s going to be fast for sure.Tester’s comments
As soon as I saw the outline I thought the Clearwater would be fun in anything from absolute crap to nice little point waves. It was super quick off the mark and I didn’t have to work hard to go fast and all in all it was pretty fun in the small conditions I surfed it in. It has a bit more of a rolled rail, which is a bit different, as I usually ride a real boxy rail. I find with shapes like this, which feature interesting things in the tail, like flyers, you can put bigger fins in and that speed you derive off the mark will translate into feeling amazing in 3-4 foot point breaks. The drive you can get off a big set of fins in a board like this is super fun. I think it’s really important one to have a shape like this in your quiver because it’s pretty diverse. It’s a happy medium between a fish and a high performance shortboard.
