Lifelong shaper and surfer Steve O’Donnell spills wisdom on the past, future and present state of his vocation in this wonderful short film.
Steve O’Donnell is a shaper from the Sydney’s Northern Beaches who’s been in the game since the game was there to be played.
While in Sydney recently, Filmmaker Tristan Lochon sat down with Steve for a chat about his life spent with planer in hand. The result is endearing and honest. And although the piece centres on O’Donnell, it reverberates well beyond one man. It’s pays homage to all the elder craftsman of the surf industry who are now slowly disappearing from the game as they reach retirement age … we could all do well to soak up the wisdom while we can.
