This year’s Oi Rio Pro once again saw action take place at Barrinha, the barrelling right-hander at the western end of Saquarema, in Brazil. While the kegging right has redefined the way the rest of the world thinks about surf in Brazil, Barrinha wasn’t always so enticing. It’s only recent amendments to the break-wall that have transformed the wave into a tubular playground for locals and travelling pros.
