Broken Bones and the Waves of Your Life

Mitch Parkinson and Jackson Coffey score the Cloudbreak dream, but for others it was a nightmare.

Cloudbreak has to be in the running for best wave on the planet. What other wave can deliver mindless perfection at everything from three feet to thirty? We Australian’s are pretty lucky to have it just across the road in global scale.

Jackson Coffey and Mitch Parkinson know this, so when a nice swell presented itself a few months back, the pair couldn’t resist jumping on a plane and indulging.

For three days they feasted on solid Cloudbreak, enjoying both the tubes and beatings of a lifetime. Luckily they came away unscathed. Not so lucky was American Andrew Jacobson, who got himself in a bad spot and blew his leg apart. The footage is harrowing, and a sobering reminder of Cloudbreak’s power.
