In March of this year Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi were smashed by Tropical Cyclone Idai. It claimed more than 1,000 lives and caused close to $2billion dollars in damage.
As surfers we tend to think of these weather events in terms of the swell they cause. It’s a dubious and morally grey area that we can derive such pleasure from something that causes such pain and suffering to so many.
Here Harry Bryant, Matt Bromley, Brendon Gibbens and Davey Van Zyl fly into Mozambique to take advantage of the swell on offer during one such cyclone, whether it was Idai or not we can’t say, and man didn’t they get tubed!
