Dusty Payne Wins The Reef Hawaiian Pro, Haleiwa

Did we just witness one of the best finals ever in the Hawaiian Triple Crown?

Dusty Payne has won the Reef Hawaiian Pro, Haleiwa. In a stacked final against Julian Wilson, Jeremy Flores and Adam Melling, Dusty absolutely killed it.

Dropping a total of 19.64 heat total and coming back from a combination situation in the form of a blazing Julian Wilson who dropped an early 18.64, Dusty surmounted one of the best comebacks and heats in history. Putting together a 9.87 and 9.77 on his last two waves with incredible rail surfing to take down the first event of the Triple Crown.

The outpouring of support quickly flooded social media.

“One of the best finals ever. Congrats Dusty Payne, Julian Wilson, Jeremy Flores, Adam Melling, great show. One of the best finals.” said Jake Patterson afterwards.

“Some of the most incredible surfing I’ve seen! Dusty Payne you are a weapon! Sickest final boys,” added fellow West Australian Taj Burrow

A win at Haleiwa sees Dusty launch up the world rankings to 24 and another good result could propel him back on the WCT.
