Looking through the filter of the WSL coverage, you might think that Filipe had a shocker on the North Shore in 2018. Apart from his near make on a backdoor bomb, the rest was downright painful to watch.
He has a lot to digest during the break. But we’re sure Fil will be back hungrier than ever in 2019 looking to engrave his name on the trophy.
However, judging by this clip which chronicles Fil’s free surfing exploits on The Rock, he does have some reason to smile. He scored some epic waves and his surfing is still the best on the planet right now when it comes to speed, progression and variety.
