The true Tahitian surf season has just begun and Teahupoo just saw it’s first real swell for the year. Peruvian charger Jonathan Gubbins was on hand to make the most of it.
"Over the last couple years, I've been focused on chasing swells that focus on some of the best barrels in the world. Tahiti, Africa and Indonesia are on top of that list and once I saw this storm, I had a feeling this might be the one. I've been putting a lot of effort in with my equipment and surfing lately, and jumping on a last second flight to catch this swell, I was pumped to make the most of it."
