The African country of Liberia has been decimated by 15 years of bloody civil war, in which tens of thousands of lives have been lost. Among them were many child soldiers, recruited by heartless armed groups and used as fighters, suicide bombers and human shields.
Now there is a growing surf scene in Liberia that is helping kids find freedom from the horrors of the war, by immersing them in the ocean and surfing.
surfers Arthur Bourbon and Damien Castera travelled to Africa in order to make a documentary about this surfing revolution. Here you can see a condensed version of what is set to be a full-length feature scheduled for release in 2019.
