Imogen Caldwell didn't have your average childhood. Born in Newcastle, her parents originally from Nelson Bay on the east coast.
After the family did a lap around Australia when she was young they took a punt on relocating to northwest WA settling at The Bluff. Her folks eventually took a job managing the station.
With a hollow lefthander out front and no phone reception or distractions of suburban life, the family spent plenty of time in the ocean.
Having honed her ability in the powerful reef breaks around her home Caldwell, now 24, lives a nomadic life traversing the globe.
But as we learn in this edit, she isn't immune to the allure of threading hissing pits in one of the more remote corners of the world.
