In Search Of Monsters with Ryan Hipwood

Follow Hippo as he scours the Australian coastline on the hunt.

Very few surfers clock up as many k's scouring the Australian for monsters as Ryan Hipwood. And it’s that dedication which has seen him become a standout in seemingly anything the ocean can throw at him.

He’s also partial to sampling some international waters too, making his presence felt whenever he does. You may have seen his Pipe bomb during the recent Da Hui Shootout, and who could forget his 20ft Cloudbreak tunnel?

The following clip gives an insight into the life of Hippo, as he endlessly hunts down the heaviest waves on Aussie shores.
