Italo Ferreira’s Warning Shot

So you wanna be a champion?

If this were any other year we’d currently be three events into the 2020 World Title race. 2019 World Champ Italo Ferreira would be the man with a target on his back and looking to defend his title. However, we’ll never really know how he would’ve stood up to the test. That’s not to say he isn’t still trying.

Devoid of contests to defend his title, Italo seems to be staking a claim by dropping clips to do so. His latest edit opens with a gigantic frontside rotation that’ll drop your jaw, set to Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson growling the question ‘so you wanna be a champion?’

Is this clip Italo’s subtle way of calling out his fellow tour surfers? You wanna be the champion? Put out a clip that tops this and then we’ll talk.

We really hope this is the case, and very much look forward to seeing the return of serve if so.
