Jack O’Neill World Memorial Paddle Out

Friends and family from around the world pay tribute to an icon.

“I got to spend some time with him. I spent about two or three hours with him at his house, and he asked me if I’d been surfing. I said ‘yeah know I’ve been surfing around Santa Cruz, and you know, it’s really warm at the moment.’  Sure enough he just turned around and looked at me and goes, ‘you’re welcome.’” – Jordy Smith

From Santa Cruz to Sydney, thousands of surfers recently paid tribute to Jack O’Neill with a giant “circle of love”. Across four continents and more than nine countries, the memorial paddle outs spanned all corners of the globe.

This clip delivers anecdotes about Jack O'Neill from some of the sports biggest stars including Jordy Smith, Shaun Tomson & Tom Carroll, as well as a bunch of people who helped inspire Jack throughout his life.
