Few shapers court as much attention at Lost Surfboards’ Matt Biolos. A shaper to the stars, he is simply one of the best in the business. Boasting a crop of some of the world’s best surfers with the likes of Kolohe Andino, Carissa Moore, Taj Burrow, Chris Ward and Mason Ho on the team it’s understandable that he’s always in demand.
But what does one of the world’s best shapers ride himself?
In part one we learnt about a yet to be released model, The Puddle Jumper. Part two featured one of his personal faves, The V3 Rocket. Part Three looked at his Sub-Scorcher II. A board that is more in the realm of a modern day performance shortboard.
Today in part four, the final installment, we chat to Matt about the Lost Mini Gun – his perfect bigger, better wave board.
Producer of the series, Benny from Compare Surfboards, is a surfboard addict and the brains behind www.CompareSurfboards.com. An “everyday surfer” that has decided to provide independent, real reviews on the some of the best surfboards in the marketplace.
On a recent trip to California he tracked down Matt Biolos to chat about boards with particular reference to what he’s riding. In part one we learn about a yet to be released favourite of his, The Lost Puddle Jumper and joys of surfing it through Africa and California. This four-part series is insightful and informative and may just help you find your next board.
