Noa Deane Rapturous in ‘RU.BU 994’

A double-deck grip, death metal infused display of surfing genius

Somewhere along the way, Noa Deane went from mild-mannered Gold Coast grommet to the most watchable freesurfer in the world.

Now when Noa drops an eight-minute clip, your eyes are velcroed to the screen for every second. Mr. Deane has every trick in the book down and is adept at executing them all with steeze and style. He makes sure his digital posts demonstrate the full range of his skills – from tweaked pop shove its to massive straight airs. Of course, there are also generous helpings of tubular swells and hearty carves to complete the offering – watch out for a couple of side-wedge moments (like the one below) that will make you weep with joy.
