Surfers across Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW could barely contain their excitement when the charts lined up for Australia Day this year. The first real swell of the New Year was on its way, and everyone was out to make the most of it.
In Noosa, Harrison Roach was also planning his attack, but he wanted something a little more under the radar than the Nooosa points on a public holiday, so he and a handful of mates hit the road in search of long lonely points further north.
What they found was right on the money, and Harrison set about trimming himself into a stupor.
