Boy oh boy it has been pumping on the North Shore lately. The sand has been swept from the reef at Pipe and the locals are enjoying one hell of a mid-season. This clip, taken over the last few weeks captures much of the action, which include many Wave of the Winter contenders. Kelly's first wave is an absolute gem, and shows exactly why the transient 11-time world champ parks himself in Hawaii for a long period of time each winter.
Don't forget that the Volcom Pipe Pro kicks off tomorrow too! Fingers crossed it is graced with bountiful swell and favourable winds. If it is we could witness one of the best comps in a very long time.
