Everybody loves a wedge right? Under normal circumstances they could possibly be the funnest thing in surfing, but when they’re 40ft plus, dirty and dying to tear your limbs off it’s a whole other story.
Last week Nazaré exploded into life under the influence of a giant swell, and a host of the world’s biggest chargers got amongst the enormous liquid pyramids rolling into the Portuguese colosseum.
Among them were Aussies Ross Clarke-Jones and Mick Corbett, as well as British charger Andrew Cotton (who broke his back during the session).
