Step Back In Time to Kirra ‘96

15yo Parko, Chad Edser on a single fin, China being China, and real Kirra!

Now that we’ve all calmed down after TC Oma turned everyone north of Coffs into foaming maniacs. Let’s revisit a bit of Kirra, but not just any Kirra … this is real Kirra! Filmed by Justin Gane (@pulsesurf) all the way back in 1996, just years before its demise.

It features a 15-year-old Joel Parkinson finding his feet at the wave, Newcastle shredder Chad Edser getting the tube of the clip on his backhand while riding an old single-fin, and Jason ‘China’ O’connor’s unique approach in its heyday.

Put on those rose coloured glasses and hit play!
