This is why Matt Banting Should Be On Tour Next Year.

Time away from the tour seems to have served him well.

In 2015 Matt Banting undertook his rookie year on the tour. He didn’t do so good. Sure he showed promise but there was an argument to be made that his tender years meant his surfing was slightly undercooked.

Then he developed a chronic injury and his disappearance from the tour was no longer up to him.

Sponsors fled and all of a sudden one of Tracks’ favourite Australian prospects was left high and dry at home in Port Macquarie.

During his time out of the spotlight Matt worked hard to regain his health, and as evidenced in this clip, to take his surfing to a whole new level.

He currently ranked seventh on the QS, with a real shot at getting himself back on tour next year.

Check out the clip above to see why.
