Torren Martyn’s Mid-length Madness in Central America

Come for the beautifully drawn lines, stay for the mind-bending drainers.

Riding a mid-length surfboard is a humbling experience. Coming straight of a shortboard it’ll mess with your head. The extra length will force you to slow down and think about your surfing. In order to get the best out your rides you need to ride the wave as it demands. Placement and clean lines are key, and if you can hit them it’s an exhilarating and high speed ride that’ll have you hooked instantly.

Torren Martyn is one of the finest exponents of these lines, and in this clip we find him drawing them in Central America.

The highlight no doubt is the mind warping drainers he locks into near the end of the clip. Hard to find an exit, but boy oh boy the vision would’ve been sublime.
