Have you ever wondered what it would be like to turn your back on the grind and explore the entire wave-rich coastline of your Australian backyard? To glide down all those East Coast points, run the gauntlet through the Great Australian Bight and ride cavernous barrels in the far North West? Tracks Wanderlust is a major, multi-media project that documents exactly that kind of journey.
This year Mikey Wright and Luke Hynd will be roaming around the Land Down Under – chasing waves, catching up with surfing legends and sharing beers with classic Australian characters. Their itinerary is pretty loose and it’s the kind of epic road trip where anything could happen.
Filmed over three separate legs, the Wanderlust project will culminate in a feature length film released with the January issue of Tracks. Until then, regular updates on the progress of the trip will be released on tracksmag.com, in the magazine and on Instagram.
The second leg sees the return to Salt Bush as Luke Hynd is joined by Teale Vanner as they surf their way around a coastline that boasts some of the best waves in Australia and pick off some of the waves of their lives. Pick up the October issue of Tracks on sale now to read about their experience on the road.
