Two days ago a historic session went down at Mavericks. The world’s best big wave surfers were all there. Some towed, some paddled, and most scored rides that’ll stick in their minds forever. This included Pete Mel, who after scoring what many call the best wave ever ridden at Mavs, continued to charge, along with his son John.
Here we take a look at the action from the safety of the sky. And although we’re the first to say that drone footage is getting a little long in the tooth, and it especially doesn’t do the size of the waves true justice, there’s something interesting about getting a unique angle on the Maps lineup.
