It seems ridiculous that John John Florence only just won his first Pipe Masters. The kid has been surfing the wave since he was 5 years old, and is there anyone who has negotiated the inside of a tube better? Sure, he’s got his name on the Volcom Pipe Pro’s trophy a record four times, but it’s the Pipe Masters that really counts, and by all rights, he should have just as many of those.
We’re just glad the monkey is finally off his back, and it could open the floodgates to a bunch more now he’s free from the pressure.
