Thanks to the boom of YouTube vlogging and GoPros, we’ve all probably experienced POV vision from the water at Pipeline, and while the vision itself is sublime, the muffled audio doesn’t really capture the pure noise and mayhem of the Pipe lineup when it’s big and gnarly.

Here, Koa Smith hit’s the epic Christmas Eve swell at Pipe with not only his trusty GoPro but also a microphone to truly capture the mayhem. It’s a nice novelty, but to be honest, this clip is really just an excuse to watch the freshly minted Pipe Master, John John Florence, and his crew do their thing at perfect Pipe.
