Watch: Mason at Waimea on a day that closed out The Bay

Other big waves may get more limelight, but the Bay still knows how to roar.

Amidst all the outer-reef-Oahu-heroics and Jaws lunacy it’s easy to forget that Waimea is still one helluva wave. Watching the diminutive Mason Ho take the drop at Waimea is like seeing a mouse jump from the head of a roaring white lion and then get chased down a hill by it. Maybe you would like to grab your 10’2”, sack up, and take on ‘Da Bay’ or you can just hit play and live vicariously through those who do.

Note: Astute listeners will dial into the grab from the soundtrack of cult 80s film ‘Surf into Summer.’  Worth a watch for a hit of 80s nostalgia.
