A strange thing happens to surfers on the North Shore when a bit of sand fills in, they go bonkers for it.
You see, normally their whole surfing life is spent calculating how not to hit the bottom. However, the second some sand fills in over the reef all bets are off. Six-foot doubled-up closeouts in inches of water? No problem! They’re out there hurling themselves over the ledge, and packing sand-filled cement mixers with no hope of an exit.
As you’ll see in this clip it’s an outing the whole family can get into, with Michael and Mason Ho paddling out and going wild. Throwing themselves over the falls and pulling into closeouts, while filmer Rory Pringle gasps and cringes on the beach.
Not many makes here, just some broken sticks and a satisfying sense of schadenfreude.
