We’re so used to watching Mason dodging and dancing with rocks that to watch him surf over plain-old-sand has now become the novelty.

Here Mason jumps on a session at a short-lived sandbank at the same place he’s normally scraping fin and flesh on rock. However, when sand moves on the North Shore during winter it moves quick, so Mason only had a window of a few hours to fulfil his sand fantasy before the grains were ripped down the beach and the rocks returned.
