While the eyes of the surf world have been focused on the blue subtropical waters of the Gold Coast and the Quicksilver Pro, on the other side of the planet the brown and frigid waters of New Jersey have been delivering something special.
Swell from Winter Storm Riley just happened to coincide with a sand replenishment project at one of New Jersey’s premier lefts. The result was their own Jersey version of Namibia’s Skeleton Bay.
Locals braved the freezing conditions and scored a few days of mind blowing waves.
