Watch: This Valentines Day Pipe Cut will Leave You Head Over Heels

It was about as menacingly perfect as Pipe gets.

The surfers that dedicate their life to Pipeline are a special breed. Nothing else matters but scoring that one magical day and that one magical ride. It’s an endless pursuit. Although we’re willing to bet a few lucky souls scored the wave of their lifetime at Pipe this Valentine’s Day.

The waves were the perfect balance of menacing and eye-wateringly perfect. And just about every Pipe-addicted soul on Oahu came out of the woodwork looking for their slice of Nirvana.

This edit does a good job of showcasing the best rides from the day, with a mix of drone and land angles. Thanks to the gin clear water, the former giving a bird’s eye view of just how shallow and gnarly the reef is, and exactly what these guys are looking down at as they huck themselves over the ledge.
